Do not bring the queen out too early

Bringing the queen out early is tempting. The problem is that your opponent can attack her while developing useful pieces.

Explanation

The queen is strong, so she quickly becomes a target.

Taking out the queen early can create an early threat, but it's often fragile. The opponent can attack with knights, bishops or pawns while developing his pieces.

The problem is not that the queen is going out. The problem is that she goes out alone, without support. An accompanied queen is dangerous. A queen alone in the middle of the stage is a star without security.

Don't bring out the queen just to attack a pawn.
Develop the light pieces first: knights and bishops.
Use the queen when she has support.

To remember

The queen is strong, but out too soon she becomes a target.

Classic error

Go hunting with the queen while the opponent develops his pieces by attacking him.

Player Tip

Wait until your knights and bishops are out. The queen likes to arrive when the position is ready.
